NSW Police charging owners; Qld Gun Police looking for ways to ban

Last month, NSW Police published a clear warning that people with plastic toy guns that fire tiny jelly balls (Gel Ball Blasters) would be charged with owning unregistered firearms (click here).  Indded, toys have been seized and people charged.

Documents released to LAFO under Queensland’s Right To Information Act give us a small insight into two things.  First, Customs’ failed attempt to seize Gel Ball Blasters and charge people for illegal importation.

Second, we see the search for ways to ban Gel Ball Blasters under Queensland legislation.  Would Fair Trading step in to help ban them?

No doubt the police state efforts to ban Gel Ball Blasters in Queensland will continue.
